A hard ride behind the wheel of the CX-3 will praise even enthusiastic driving enthusiasts. We expect playful driving dynamics, enthusiastic drives and Mazda driver interior – after all, it is the zoom zoom brand – and this subcompact crossover is not disappointing. However, once its usefulness is under the microscope, the glare of the CX-3 begins to fade. It’s Small Customers prioritizing cargo space and passenger space could be better served by many of the CX-3’s competitors or even a Mazda 3 hatchback. Nevertheless, the CX-3 is on the shortlist of cross-overs, if only because of his expertise in the corner and his cheerful character.
In addition to a slight price increase, Mazda also produced automated low-speed emergency braking standards in the CX-3 series. It also introduced the company’s G-vectoring control system, which imperceptibly lowers engine torque as the CX-3 turns into a corner to improve cornering stability. This new system is accompanied by a clamped suspension. To reduce the cabin noise, Mazda added a thicker windowpane, additional sound-absorbing materials, and revised door seals.
The center touring model now comes standard with automatic headlamps, windscreen wipers and automatic climate control. The Grand Touring model with top specs features an enhanced full-color head-up display. The security package Grand Touring i-Activsense of 2017 has been renamed Premium Package. It retains the active safety features – fast automated emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, lane deceleration, and high-beam auto-headlights – but includes a height-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and memory settings, a heated steering wheel, and traffic sign recognition.
Little Mazda’s smallest crossover passed the second model year with two changes. Mid-range Touring models are standardly made with the same 18-inch wheels as the top-of-the-line Grand Touring. More conspicuously, the Grand Touring i-Activsense package – Mazda’s smart name for active safety technology – dropped $ 750 and now costs $ 1170.
For 2017, we decided to use the mid-range touring trim, and we would keep the same trim for 2018 as well. The starting price is $ 23,135 ($ 235 more than 2017) and it’s the best mix of price, style and comfort. It adds a set of elements to the CX-3’s feature list. Among the most notable are:
• 18-inch wheels
• Rain-dependent wipers
• Heated front seats
• Blind spot monitoring with warning in reverse traffic
The Premium package is again referred to as the Touring Preferred Equipment package for 2018, but it still adds an electric sunroof, seven Bose audio speakers, SiriusXM satellite radio, a tailgate, and $ 1410. Front-wheel drive is standard, but if you need it, four-wheel drive is available for every CX-3 at a low price of $ 1250.
